This dataset consists of nationwide data on Pygmy Hippo in Liberia collected during the development of Liberia Pygmy Hippo National Action Plan. The dataset includes recent occurrence records for the species collected through systematic surveys across the country and history records gathered from interviews with communities.

The project seeks to build the capacity of Liberian biodiversity data collectors, academic institutions, government agencies and other stakeholders to mobilize, process and conserve Liberia’s biodiversity data in standard data sharing formats (Darwin Core) to be published and accessed by national and international data users.
